God says...

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

It is always hard for us to remember the reasons to keep pressing on even though things, people, or circumstances don’t change (Phillippians 3:14). That is when it is easy to throw out the white flag and say I quit. But God reminds us that love doesn’t quit. Jesus didn’t.

Love is the power that helps us press forward even though nothing has changed and even though we can’t see where we’re going or heading to. It provides us with an alternative response, an alternative action. Sometimes that wait can take several years. But still, God calls us to love. Love never fails or quits and when we think it does it isn’t because love failed, but WE did. We quit, not love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
